Check, in this order

Read the display: is a word such as COOK, PROBE or TIMER showing or flashing?
pass a word is showing: that program has ended, go to step 2 fail nothing but the time: go on to step 3

Press the key that set that program, such as MIN/SEC TIMER or START TIME.

What the patterns mean
Viking’s use-and-care guides for the VSOE, VDOE, RVSOE and RVDOE wall ovens describe each sound:
- One beep: a key press the control accepted. Two: a key it refused.
- Three beeps, then a pair every 10 seconds: the minute timer or bake-hours timer has finished.
- A three-beep series that keeps repeating: a timed bake has ended and the oven has switched itself off.
- Three tones, then two every ten seconds, with PROBE flashing: the meat probe has reached its target.
Beeping that carries on with nothing programmed fits none of those, which is what makes it worth a call.
Stop and call if
- The beeping resumes with the breaker back on and no program set.
- Keys respond on their own, or the panel feels hot to the touch.
- A code joins the beeps, such as F08 on a DSOE or DDOE oven: note it exactly before you call.
